Marcelle Armatage

Statement

Marcelle is a Canadian Artist.

Marcelle began her art training in Montreal and Paris. Over the years, she has taken many courses from West Coast artists.

Her paintings consist of abstract landscapes, still life and neurographic art.

Her landscape paintings are a personal interpretation of the Sea to Sky Corridor and West Coast Landscapes while maintaining a connection to the original topography which influences the direction of the abstract design.

Marcelle still life paintings are figurative and abstract. They evolve toward her interest in spatial expressions.

She has developed a unique and recognizable style in her landscapes and still life paintings using hard edges and bold vibrant colours. The simplified forms create a dynamic and distinct composition.

Her creation develops consciously and unconsciously working with many layers of acrylic paint and mixed mediums.

Marcelle is now focusing on acrylic painting in which she is incorporating her experience from doing clay sculpture and stained glass.

Her studio is located in Whistler, BC.
